Ahoy, Jennifer!
Welcome to planDisney! As my friend Princess Tiana would say, your Disney Cruise Line vacation is getting
closer and closer every day. It won't be long until you're setting sail with Mickey and friends on an unforgettable adventure!
Jennifer, I sailed on the
Disney Dream with my three boys just a few months ago, and we enjoyed stops at both
Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point and
Disney Castaway Cay as part of our itinerary. My two oldest loved spending time at
Edge and
Vibe while on the ship, but also found plenty to do while exploring both private destinations. While you won't find a dedicated space for tweens on a map of the island, you will likely find activities planned throughout the day specifically for 11 to 13-year-olds.
The
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App will be your go-to resource for entertainment and activities during your cruise - both on the ship and on the islands. We found activities organized by the Youth Counselors throughout the day on each island just for my tween, such as "Edge Invades Teen Hideout" on Castaway Cay. He also enjoyed snorkeling, swimming, and sliding with the whole family at Castaway Cay's Pelican Plunge. You may find these activities vary slightly from sailing to sailing, but I don't think you'll have any problem finding plenty of fun at both locations.
As you continue planning your vacation, I have to share that my tween's favorite night on our sailing was definitely
Pirate Night. After the deck party and fireworks, he found himself in a flash mob with other kids from Edge having a swashbuckling time. By the time our vacation was over, he had made many new friends and was already asking when we would book our next cruise!
I hope this information has been helpful, Jennifer, and that you enjoy making many magical memories at sea! If you have any other questions, please stop by to see us again here at planDisney - we're all ears!
Cheers!
Kristi
