In prior years with DDP, I could change QS drink for a snack. Can you still do this? If at Pecos Bill ordering the Fajitas, can I get tortilla chips instead of the drink and still be charged 1 QS meal? If so can I make the substitution via Mobil ordering?

    Welcome Back, Melissa!

Dining around Walt Disney World Resort is now one of my favorite reasons to visit, thanks to gourmet meals, insta-worthy snack creations, traditional holiday fare, and even fancy food pairing classes. Disney is quickly becoming known as an Eat Park, too!

Mobile Ordering through your My Disney Experience App has become a Disney Day game changer. The part of me who hates wasting time loves being able to order a meal (or Dole Whip) while I'm exiting an attraction, and then WALTz over to my tasty treat that's waiting on me. Depending on the Disney Dining Location and the actual menu item ordered, some substitutions while using the Mobile Ordering feature are allowed. However, these are mostly within the same category; an example is if a burger is shown as served with fries and fruit, there will be a drop down that lists all of the other available options for side items, like applesauce, chips, etc. Watch the video in this Disney Parks Blog piece about Mobile Ordering, which isn't exactly a step-by-step tutorial, but will give you a good feel for how the app works.

Substitutions made in person are generally still allowed, however they are up to each Dining Location. While I can't say for sure if a Disney Dining Plan drink can always be turned into a snack item, Walt Disney World Resort is the Most Magical Place on Earth, so I bet there's still a good chance.

We'll See You Real Soon, Melissa!
