Hi Rebecca!
Welcome aboard the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Flying in ahead of your upcoming
Disney Cruise is such a great idea! Every chance we get to arrive a day or two before setting sail always puts my mind at ease because it eliminates the worry of an unexpected flight delay causing us to miss our cruise. Captain Mickey and his crew run a very punctual ship!
You're vacationing with a big pirate crew! How exciting! Last year we took a large family vacation aboard Disney Cruise Line on an itinerary sailing out of a different port of call. We arrived a few days early to enjoy the city we were sailing from and ensure that no unexpected delays would result in us missing our voyage. I did not want to bring a car seat for my little buccaneer, either. We called a local taxi/limo service and requested a van to pick us up from the airport and drop us off at the hotel. We requested that the van have a car seat already installed in it, too! We just needed some minor adjustments to the car seat's straps and my entire family was on their way to the hotel! In my opinion, this would be the best bet to Port Canaveral on the morning of your embarkation, too!
If you're looking for transportation back to Orlando International Airport from the Cruise Terminal after debarking the ship, I recommend taking
Disney Cruise Line's Ground Transportation! Ground transfers through Disney Cruise Line do cost an additional fee, but the motor coach will pick you up right at the Cruise Terminal and you'll have a safe, easy and fun ride back to the airport. Your little ones will not need car seats on the motor coach, either!
Rebecca, thank you so much for sailing by with this excellent question. I hope you'll come visit us again as you plan your exciting adventure at sea!
