Hi! My princess is turning 5 and I'll be taking her to WDW. We'll only be there for one day. How can I make this day extra special for her and make sure she gets to meet some characters.

    Hi Shirley,

How exciting!  There's no better way to celebrate a birthday than at Walt Disney World!  I've done it every year for my children and we still look forward to going to Disney to mark our special occasions.  They are now 15 and 18, and they are Disney addicts just like me (my job as a mom is done)!

The best way to make this birthday special for your princess surrounds one location, Cinderella Castle located in Magic Kingdom!  You can start her day visiting Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique where her Fairy Godmother-in-training will give her a royal makeover and even help her chose a princess gown for her special day.  You can follow that with lunch or dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table where she'll dine with Disney princesses INSIDE THE CASTLE!!!!  Can you imagine?!?  It's such an amazing feeling knowing that you're being hosted by Cinderella herself!  Also, you can't forget to visit Guests Services at your Disney resort or the park when you arrive....you can get her a birthday button to wear all day.  Castmembers do notice these buttons and she'll receive tons of happy birthday wishes throughout the park.

Please wish your little princess a very magical and happy birthday for me.  I hope all of her dreams come true!

Magic Kingdom still takes my breath away, but my favorite place to be is on a Disney ship looking at the horizon and breathing in that crisp, clean ocean air!  I love planning Disney vacations for others and making sure it's more than they dreamed. Learn More About Marisol
