Hi Jeanine,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! There is really nothing quite like the magic of seeing your favorite stories come alive at the Walt Disney World Resort. On our visit a few months ago, my son and Belle got into a deep discussion about mythical creatures and all their favorite fantasy stories, and I was teary-eyed watching the wonder in his eyes as he talked to one of his favorite princesses. I’m so happy to hear you’re seeing her majesty, Princess Aurora, on your upcoming Disney visit!
At this time, Princess Aurora’s royal duties (and her need to stay a few steps ahead of Maleficent) keep her from greeting Guests at her own Walt Disney World Resort character meet and greet. Luckily, there are a few dining experiences where you can have a chance to meet Sleeping Beauty herself, along with other favorite
Disney Princesses.
My family has met Aurora at
Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in Epcot’s Norway Pavilion. Dining in a medieval castle with Princesses stopping by to say hello - it just doesn't get any better than that! While character appearances are subject to change, you may meet Aurora, Belle, Snow White, Ariel, or other royals.
Aurora has also made an appearance at
Cinderella’s Royal Table in Magic Kingdom Park. This is another opportunity to enjoy a regal meal in a stunning storybook setting, with princesses stopping by to say hello. I haven’t personally met Aurora here, but I’ve seen photos of her meeting Guests during this dining experience.
For the full royal experience, may I suggest
Disney's Perfectly Princess Tea at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa? This royal tea party includes tea, sandwiches, fruit, and cake (plus a special menu for the adults), storytelling, dancing, and even special gifts for the princesses who attend. Aurora herself may attend this tea party, and one of my favorite special touches is the gift of a special rose from Aurora’s own garden.
Jeanine,
character appearances are subject to change, so be sure to read the
Disney Parks Blog for announcements about new experiences. Also, the
My Disney Experience mobile app is a great way to see in real time which characters are meeting Guests, plotted on each theme park’s map. Just open the app, tap the map, and use the drop-down at the top to search Characters (they’re designated by a Mickey head icon on the park map). Tap the Mickey head to see times and other details for the character experience.
As Aurora says, if you dream a thing more than once it’s sure to come true. Jeanine, I’m wishing for your dream of meeting Aurora to come true during your visit to Walt Disney World Resort, and I hope you have the most wonderful time.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
