Hiya Lisa,
Welcome to planDisney! From one Texan to another, I'm incredibly excited that you are here today. Planning a visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth in December can be an extra special way to bring enchantment to your holiday season.
Prices for Theme Park tickets to Walt Disney World Resort can be a little confusing if it is your first visit, so hopefully, I can help provide some clarity. Theme Park ticket prices are on a tiered system which means that depending on the time of year and the day of the week, the prices can be higher or lower. December does tend to be a bit more expensive, especially as you get closer to Christmas Day, but the weekdays tend to be less expensive overall. The best way to get a sense of the ticket prices is to play around on the website. Once on the
Theme Park ticket page, select the number of days,
the ticket type (one park a day, Water Park and Sports Option, Park Hopper Option, or Park Hopper Plus Option), and the first date of your proposed visit. From there, you can see the calendar with each of the days' prices and get a sense of which Theme Parks are available!
Just two more things before I let you go. Did you know that you don't have to use your tickets on consecutive days? If you plan to visit for multiple days, you do not have to visit every day. Your theme park tickets will come with a use-by date that will allow you to use your Theme Park tickets anytime before a specific date (typically within a seven-day period). Lastly, remember to reserve your
Disney Park Pass Reservations once you purchase your Theme Park tickets. Admission to the Theme Parks at Walt Disney World Resort requires both valid tickets and a Disney Park Pass reservation (which are limited), so it is super important to make them immediately after getting tickets.
I hope this was helpful, Lisa! Please come back and see us if there is anything else we can do!
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
