Hello there Christina, welcome to planDisney! It's always great to chat about vacation planning with a fellow Canadian! I hope I can help you plan your
Walt Disney World Resort adventure.
I'm thrilled that there are several ways to travel to Walt Disney World Resort; you can take to the skies or embark on a road trip - either way, it's exciting! When booking your Walt Disney World Resort vacation, please note that the prices are always listed in USD. This requires a bit of extra consideration on our part, but given how the dollar conversion fluctuates, the actual cost of the vacation can vary even from day to day.
Many Canadians like to pay for their Walt Disney World Resort purchases (including
Theme Park tickets) with Disney Gift Cards since the Gift Cards do not have conversion fees like credit cards. They are relatively easy to find in stores and when you use them, you'll receive the exchange rate from the previous day. Take a look at your receipt when you make a purchase with a Disney Gift Card and you'll see the remaining balance listed so you can keep track of how much you have left. If you have multiple Gift Cards, you can visit www.disneygiftcard.com and register your Gift Cards. The website also allows you to combine Gift Cards (as long as they are all Canadian-purchased or American-purchased - you cannot mix currencies) and you can see the amount on each Gift Card.
Christina, if you're looking to travel in the next few months, I recommend looking into the
Canadian Resident offer which allows Canadians to save on Walt Disney World Theme Park Tickets for a 5-day or longer stay. It might be worth a peek!
I hope this information is useful to your vacation planning. Thanks so much for visiting
planDisney and be sure to return if you have any other questions!
See ya real soon,
Candace
