Hi Sheree,
Thank you for stopping by planDisney with a question!
Looking at theme park ticket prices for the date of your visit, you are correct that currently the lowest price is $164 for a standard 1-day theme park ticket. That is the price for a ticket to Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park. Other tickets are currently ranging from $179-$189. Pricing could change and/or ticket availability could be limited. So I suggest that you purchase your ticket(s) as soon as possible.
Given the cost of a single day ticket and since you are a Florida resident, I encourage you to also explore
Annual Pass options. Pay close attention to the
blockout dates. The date of your visit would be a blockout date for the Disney Pixie Dust and Pirate Passes for Florida Residents so you would not be able to use one of those Annual Passes for entry. However, I love the
benefits of being an Annual Passholder. With the
savings on select merchandise, dining, and experiences, my Annual Pass has been a fantastic value. We also really love the select discounts on
Disney Resorts Collection hotel stays. Even if we do just a quick two night stay, it puts us right in the middle of the magic!
Keep in mind that with date-based tickets, you should not need to make theme park reservations but if you do join the Annual Passholder family, currently,
theme park reservations are required. Prior to your visit, I also recommend that you check the
park hours so that you can maximize your time. And, consider at least a one night hotel stay. If you stay at a Disney hotel, you get access to
Early Theme Park Entry for Disney Resort Hotel Guests and, if you stay in a deluxe, deluxe villa, or other select hotel, you will get access to
Extended Evening Theme Park Hours.
Sheree, please stop back by if you have additional questions. And, keep up the
practically perfect planning!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
