I see that the price to pre-book the photo pass for a Disney Cruise is discounted compared to the price onboard. If I use a Disney Credit card to pay the pre-book price, will I also receive the 10% off discount?

    Hello, Jessica,

My family and I were looking through photos from our last few cruises a few days ago. It was wonderful to reminisce about the many magical memories we have made together through the years. Purchasing a Disney Cruise Line digital photo package is often one of the greatest vacation investments we can make, with the dividends coming in over and over every time we browse our photo albums.

To make that investment even sweeter, Disney Rewards members are eligible for 10% off the non-discounted price of select Disney Cruise Line digital photo packages when purchasing onboard with a Disney Rewards Visa card. The pre-booked unlimited digital photo package that can be added under the “My Plans” section on the My Reservations page at least three days before your sailing is offered at an even more significantly discounted price. Since the two discounts cannot be combined, I recommend pre-booking if you are confident you will want the unlimited digital package. But if you anticipate wanting only a few of your cruise photos, you might prefer taking advantage of the 10% discount onboard and purchasing the 10-photo, 15-photo, or 20-photo package.

Your question got me thinking. So I looked up the onboard guest folio from our most recent Disney cruise to confirm that pricing. Sure enough, I found our pre-booked unlimited digital photo package on the folio. It was listed as “Shutters” on the folio and wasn’t officially charged until after I was onboard. Since I always link my Disney Rewards card to my onboard account during online check-in, I would at least earn my regular 1%, 2%, or 3% Disney Rewards Dollars for purchases at qualifying Disney locations, depending on my card type, for onboard folio charges that are applied to my linked payment card.

Tony’s Tip: To maximize our savings even more, I often choose to make payments toward our onboard account using Disney Gift Cards. Since I can usually purchase them at a significant discount from various vendors, the savings add up even more. Disney Gift Cards can be used to pre-pay gratuities or general onboard credit in advance, or you may visit the Guest Services Desk at any time during your cruise to make payments as you go.

    Have a magical cruise, Jessica!
