Disney Cruise Line sailing in March sounds fabulous! The weather should be beautiful as you sail to
Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. You are sure to have a fabulous day. I cannot quite describe it, but the sand is so soft! When you sink your toes in the sand when you hit the beach, you will see what I mean!
A Family Cabana at Lookout Cay is definitely a treat with its supply of towels, soft drinks, sunscreen, and cozy chairs. Nothing beats an afternoon lounging in a hammock! Prices vary but start around $1,030 (subject to change). But here is the catch: Securing a cabana is very difficult. The demand is definitely higher than the supply.
Is there a chance? Absolutely! Start by checking under Port Adventures when logged into your Disney Cruise Line account. Select the "Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point" day and check to see if any Family Cabanas are available. Check often as guests are always changing plans, and you might get lucky and be able to lock one in! If you see an available cabana, grab it quickly as it will not last.
Your next option is to check with guest services when boarding your ship and ask to be added to the Family Cabana wait list. You will be notified if there is a very last-minute cancelation. I have had luck with the onboard wait list, so give it a try!
The really good news is that you are going to have a magical beach day with or without the cabana. There are plenty of chairs and umbrellas so your little one will be able to stay in the shade. Towels are provided so grab enough beach towels for your travel party as you leave the ship. Plan to bring along all the beach necessities in your beach bag: beach toys, sunscreen, hats, beach shoes, and sunglasses. You will find plenty of shops on the island if you there is anything you forgot to pack!
No beach day is complete without a barbeque. True-True BBQ will have all your favorites including burgers, hot, dogs, ribs, and plenty of sides to add to your meal. Leave room for ice cream!
