How to prevent your child from getting lost?

    Hello Rebecca!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with an excellent question!

One of the reasons I always recommend the Walt Disney World Resort as a travel destination for friends and family of all ages is because this is one of the safest places you can visit with your family.

I have a 7-year-old daughter who does not speak English very well because we are from Brazil, so during our first Disney vacation I was very concerned about losing her at the parks. Kids are sometimes very fast and in the blink of an eye while you are paying for popcorn they can magically disappear.

Before leaving for the theme parks, take a picture of your child so you can have an updated photo of what they look like and what they are wearing. In case your child gets lost, immediately contact the first Cast Member you see, report your child is lost and show them their picture. In addition, Cast Members are trained to spot children who might be lost, and they will take them to the Baby Care Center located in the theme park. I taught my daughter how to identify Cast Members and that she should talk to one in case she ever gets lost. Another thing I do is have her wear a bracelet that contains information such as her first name, age, my name, phone number and e-mail. These bracelets and other tags can be ordered online. Another tip is to be extra careful and hold on to your child during parades and nighttime spectaculars such as fireworks shows. This is when many Guests gather to enjoy such events and it is easier to get separated in the middle of the crowd.

I hope this helps you while planning, Rebecca! Please stop by real soon with more questions.

    Best magical wishes,
