We have a pretty large group going, about 8 of us could be up to 10. Would we save money by waiting to purchase all tickets to the park at the same time, or should I offset the cost by purchasing tickets two or four at a time.

    Hi Tara,

How exciting! Visiting the most magical place on earth with lots of loved ones will certainly leave you with wonderful life-long memories!

While Disney does offer group discounts, you'll need a party large enough to occupy ten or more Disney Resort hotel rooms for at least one night. Since I'm guessing that your group won't need to spread out that much, there's no need to wait to buy your tickets together, and you could certainly buy your tickets a few at a time. In fact, I would actually encourage you to not wait to buy your tickets for several reasons. First, historically speaking, there have been occasional price increases, often in February. If you purchase your tickets early, they'll be valid through December 31, 2019. Also, you're currently able to save $20 per ticket when you buy a 3-day or longer ticket online ahead of time as opposed to waiting to buy them at the gate. However, the biggest reason that I'd encourage you to not wait until you arrive to buy your tickets is that once you have a valid ticket linked to your My Disney Experience account, you'll be able to make three FastPass+ selections per day 60 days ahead of time if you're staying at a Disney Resort hotel or 30 days ahead of time if you're staying elsewhere. By taking advantage of the FastPass+ service, you'll be able to skip the standby lines and enjoy even more magic and fun during your visit!

Thanks so much for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Tara, and please let us know if you have any other questions as you're planning your group's trip. You guys are going to have a BLAST together, and I hope that your vacation is truly magical!
