Genie+ and current pricing versus prepurchasing. There has been so much that has changed with Genie+ since its early release and sometimes this may make it hard to keep up with. Not to worry Margaret, you've got a friend in me to give you a little more insight on this. Let's see what we can come up with!
At one time, prepurchasing Genie+ for the whole vacation was actually a thing! Many Guests had the opportunity to take advantage of this option if they wanted to as they began planning trips in the future. Recently Disney did announce that the pricing structure would be changing as you mentioned depending on demand. Things like this have happened in the past, say with theme park tickets, room reservations and so much more that you book your trip for one price and then the general price increases. In most cases, what you initially booked, Disney will honor the price of your purchase during that time despite what happens after as long as nothing changes with their vacation, like canceling and rebooking. Your parents should not see any increase in price or additional charges for Genie+ and should be able to enjoy their visit with Genie+ for the duration of their vacation.
That being said, I would still tell them to make sure to keep an eye on their bill for any charge that may come across. If anything out of the ordinary does come up, I would make sure to check with the Cast Members at the front desk to get any unforeseen charges explained and worked out.
As mentioned earlier, a lot has changed from when Genie+ rolled out until now. Disney has some great
"How-To" videos available online to get the feel of how to best use Genie+ and book Lightning Lane Entries. You can even find out a little more about attractions that will be available for
Lightning Lane Entries and Individual Lightning Lane purchases. This will help out a ton to get the most out of Genie+!
