So as I am preparing for my honeymoon, I'm thinking about my fiancés diabetes. Last year, there were a few times when we had to get out of line because his sugar went low and it needed to be addressed. Is there a way that we can get our spot back?

Hi Jacquelyn! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I would love to send you huge Congratulations on your upcoming honeymoon! What a wonderful time in your life that deserves a great big celebration!

As a nurse I know just how difficult managing Diabetes can be. I know that it takes a lot of planning to be prepared at all times, and I also realize that even despite your best efforts sometimes there can be an issue where glucose goes low or high. First I would suggest that your fiancé makes sure that he has snacks with him at all times.  He can bring in outside food and/or drinks, such as those that do not require re-heating. If for some reason he is asked why he is bringing these items (though I doubt that will happen), he can alert the cast member that he has Diabetes.

If for some reason your fiancé’s sugar begins to drop while he is in line and you need to leave, the best advice I can offer you is that if it is safe to do so, you can approach the cast member at the front of the line and tell him your fiancé’s situation. I cannot guarantee that they will be able to save your spot in line, but it doesn’t hurt to ask!

I hope that you have the most magical honeymoon! Congratulations and best wishes for a future filled with health, love, and happiness!
