Preparing for a 9 day WDW trip in Jan. '14. Have never stayed at a Value resort. We loved POR, but used very little of the amenities last time, as we were always in the parks. Thought of trying the POP this time. Will we miss the mods? Thank you

Ally, who wouldn't want to be out in the parks sailing with pirates and zooming down mountains?

Over a nine day trip, staying in a value resort could result in some serious savings, so definitely consider booking Disney's Pop Century Resort. The most conspicuous difference you will notice between a value resort and a moderate one is your room's size. A value room has fewer square feet, double beds rather than queen size, and only one sink versus a moderate's two. Four adults in a value resort would be quite close quarters, but two kids and two parents would be fine.

Value resorts have well themed pools, but no water slides and recreational choices are more limited than at a moderate one. If you are spending the majority of your time in the parks however, these aspects won't matter. The Everything Pop Food Court is perfect for grabbing a quick breakfast on your way to hit the rides, so a lack of a table service restaurant is probably not an issue.

Remember all choices at Walt Disney World are good ones! You will be delighted if you choose to save and go with the whimsical Pop Century or if you pick more room and amenities and stay at a moderate resort.
