Hi there, Matthew! Welcome to planDisney and thanks for your question!
Wow! Receiving tickets to the Happiest Place on Earth is an amazing gift! Since your child is now 11 years old, they will need an adult ticket to visit the parks. To make this change, simply stop by a ticket booth on your first day at the Disneyland Resort. You will need to pay the difference between the child ticket and an adult ticket at that time.
Don't forget to make
theme park reservations before you visit as they are required for each day of your stay. If you have Park Hopper Tickets, you will make a theme park reservation for the park you want to start at each day and then at 1:00 p.m., you can hop to the other park.
Finally, if you haven't already, be sure to download the
Disneyland app and familiarize yourself with it before your trip. It will be your best tool for navigating the parks efficiently. You'll also want to read up on the new
Disney Genie service that will be debuted sometime this fall. Disney Genie is an exciting digital feature that will help you maximize your time at the parks by creating personalized park-touring itineraries.
I hope you have a magical time at the Happiest Place on Earth!
