Can you use a prepaid $200 VISA gift card to pay for a new magic key’s down payment and monthly payments?

    Hi, Tyler! Welcome to planDisney.

I understand you are interested in purchasing a Magic Key pass. Yay! Magic Key passes are currently available for purchase online. As a California resident, you have the option to make 12 monthly payments towards your Magic Key. To see this option, you must be logged in to your Disney account before purchasing.

Regarding your question, a Cast Member informed me that a Visa gift card can be used to buy a Magic Key, but only if you pay for it in full. Moreover, the Disneyland Resort website does not give you the option to split the payment between two payment types if there is a balance.

Tyler, did you know you can use a Disney Gift Card to purchase a Magic Key? Keep in mind that a maximum of $1000 from a Disney Gift Card can also be used as a method of payment online when you pay in full for a new Magic Key pass. Additionally, you can only use one Disney Gift Card per transaction. If you have more than one Disney Gift Card, you can combine them in advance of your purchase.

Tip: Check out the Magic Key Buying Guide webpage to learn more about purchasing a Magic Key!

Tyler, I hope this helps. You are in for a magical year with your Magic Key!

    Your Pal,
