We have pre-opening breakfast reservations at both MK (8:15) and Epcot (8) in a few weeks. What time should we leave the Polynesian for each of these, and can you verify whether the monorail will be running that early? I’ve read conflicting things. Thanks!

    Hi Laura!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I absolutely love having an early breakfast in a Walt Disney World theme park - there is something very magical when the park is waking up for the day. All of your transport options will depend on whether these parks are offering Extra Magic Hours (to Walt Disney World Resort hotel guests only) for that morning. If so, they will open an hour early, at 8.00am, and this means the Disney Transport will start operating earlier too. You can collect a Times Guide for both parks at the front desk of your resort hotel, to check opening times. You would take the Express Monorail to Magic Kingdom Park, which takes around 13 minutes. To travel to Epcot you would walk to the Transportation and Ticket Center, and then take the Epcot Monorail which takes around 40 minutes. The Walt Disney World Monorail System operates from 30 minutes prior to earliest park opening time, but if using the monorail does not allow you to arrive at your dining reservation in good time, you might like to use the Minnie Van Service - they are driven by Cast Members and can accommodate up to 6 Guests. You can make your booking on the Lyft app, which will also show you the cost of this service. Alternatively, you could stop by the front desk of Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, and ask them to hail you a taxi cab. Please allow some extra time for this, as there may not be a taxi readily waiting at the resort. It is worth knowing that the Minnie Vans are the only cars permitted to take you to the entrance of Magic Kingdom Park - a regular taxi can only drop you as close as the Transportation and Ticket Center.

Please come back and visit us if you have any further questions. We will be happy to help you plan your magical vacation.
