What is a "Preferred Location" room at Caribbean Beach? Can we be sure if we book it we will get a 5th sleeper?

Welcome to planDisney Barbara, thank you for bringing us your question! I’m so glad to help! Choosing the right room category can make a big difference in your Walt Disney World Resort stay, and Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort offers several options to suit the needs of different families. Whether you’re looking for the most convenient location near dining and transportation or need the flexibility of sleeping space for an additional Guest, I’d love to walk you through what a Preferred Location room includes and what you can expect if you’re hoping for that 5th sleeper.

A Preferred Location room at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort means your room will be in one of the most convenient areas of the resort, specifically in the Martinique or Barbados sections. These areas are closest to the main hub, Old Port Royale, where you’ll find dining, shopping, the main pool, and the central bus stop. The preferred part refers to location, not a different room layout or added amenities.

When it comes to the 5th sleeper, many Preferred Location rooms include a child size pull down bed in addition to the two queen beds. These rooms can officially accommodate up to five guests. If you book a Preferred Location room that specifically lists the 5th sleeper as part of the category, you can be confident that it will include that pull down bed. Disney guarantees the type of room you book, so you don’t need to worry about missing out on the sleeper if it’s part of your reservation.

What Disney does not guarantee is the exact building or room number. You’ll most likely be placed in Martinique or Barbados, but the precise spot is assigned when you arrive. If you want to be closer to certain amenities, like dining or the pool, you can note those requests during online check-in or speak with the front desk when you arrive.

If your reservation is for a Preferred Location room with a 5th sleeper, you can be sure you’ll have that extra bed. The only flexibility is where exactly within the preferred sections your room will be located.

Barbara, I hope this helps you feel confident about your reservation at Caribbean Beach Resort. Thank you so much for stopping by planDisney with your question. Wishing you a relaxing stay and a magical vacation filled with wonderful memories!
