Hi there, Makayla!
From one Floridian to another, I’m happy to welcome you to planDisney.
Here’s the scoop about using a rideshare (or your own vehicle) to use the
Contemporary Resort walkway: You are at the mercy of the hotel’s security and will most likely be turned away at the gate. While you may see others use this option on social media platforms (many of us locals have tried it all at Disney Parks), it is disapproved of to do this. The path is there for the Contemporary guests and patrons only.
Speaking of being a patron, you are allowed to be dropped off if you make and use an advance dining reservation for a Contemporary restaurant. Let the guard know that you are dining at one of the locations, with proof of the reservation in your
My Disney Experience app and photo identification, and you can enjoy a meal there. I love
California Grill and my kids adore
Chef Mickey’s.
The best option is to be dropped off at the
Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) and take a ferry or Disney Monorail to
Magic Kingdom. If you use a Minnie Van (powered by Lyft), it is the one rideshare option that can pull you right up to Magic Kingdom’s entrance. And of course, there’s the tried and true option of taking a complimentary Disney bus from Port Orleans to Magic Kingdom. This will also get you pretty close to the theme park’s entrance without taking multiple modes of transportation.
Hakuna Matata, Makayla! Whichever option you choose, you’ll find your way to Magic Kingdom, taking in the sights and sounds of Main Street, U.S.A. and beyond. Please don’t hesitate to
revisit us here at planDisney for more Disney vacation planning help.
Magic always,
LeAndra
