Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is such a fantastic
Disney Resort hotel! It holds a special place in my heart because I was able to stay there the very first week it opened. I love viewing the various animals on the savanna, especially when I am staying in a savanna view room. There is nothing better than waking up, peeking outside and seeing a giraffe strolling around.
Mobile ordering might be my favorite tech that Walt Disney World offers. It is so easy to open the My Disney Experience Mobile App, choose a restaurant, add everything you would like for the family to eat and pick it up when it is ready. It saves valuable vacation time and it's convenient to show the kids on my phone what they can pick from.
The Mara, the quick-service restaurant in Jambo House, has quite an array of breakfast, lunch and dinner items. I am at Animal Kingdom Lodge currently and mobile ordered breakfast this morning from The Mara. There are plenty of hot items to choose from, including Mickey-shaped waffles, quiche, a breakfast sandwich, eggs and my favorite, the french toast bread pudding.
I think the issue could be that you are not actually on the mobile ordering page and are instead just viewing the snack menu. I was playing around on the
My Disney Experience Mobile App and if you are on the actual page for
The Mara and viewing the menu, it defaults to the "Snack" page, which only shows dry items, fruit, yogurt and drinks. The easiest way to start a mobile order is by clicking on the three horizontal lines on the bottom right of the mobile app and then click on "Mobile Food Orders". It automatically defaults to the restaurants nearest you, so since you are not nearby, you will have to scroll until you find The Mara. Click on the available ordering time and the next page will bring up everything you can pick from. If you are still only showing bakery items, not to worry! I can assure you that you'll be able to order those delicious Mickey-shaped waffles when you are here.
