Are power banks permitted on the Disney Wonder to be recharged and used for charging iPhones and Apple Watches? Also, how does a family become the Family of the Day?

Hi there, Robert! Welcome back to planDisney!

Your Alaskan cruise aboard the Disney Wonder is coming up soon! That’s so exciting! Alaska is a dream Disney cruise destination for my family, and I can’t wait to sail there! With your cruise coming up just around the river bend, I bet you’re in the midst of planning out that fun packing list. To help with that, I would be happy to answer your question regarding the electronics that are allowed to be brought on board, as well as about becoming the Family of the Day.

While you are not allowed to bring extension cords, power strips, multi-plugs, and surge protectors, you are allowed to bring a small power bank, as it is not on the Prohibited and Restricted Items list. I usually like to bring a small power bank to portably charge our cell phones while we’re out and about. My recommendation is to bring a small one, as a large one may be confiscated at the port. Also, all electronics are always subject to inspection if Disney Cruise Line deems it necessary, in order to maintain a safe environment for all guests.

As for becoming the Family of the Day, I contacted Disney Cruise Line, and a Cast Member informed me that they’re not sure if a Family of the Day is usually chosen at the Port of Vancouver. That doesn’t mean that a Family of the Day absolutely won’t be chosen. It just means that it could be one more of those magical surprises that could happen, but it is not guaranteed there. There’s nothing that a family has to do to become the Family of the Day, as it’s just a fun and magical moment that takes place!

Finally, I highly suggest checking out this packing list for Alaska to make sure you have everything you need on your cruise. I always find that it helps me when I’m packing for my cruise so that I don't leave anything important behind.

Robert, I hope I was able to offer guidance. I wish you the most adventurous memories on board your cruise! Please sail back to planDisney if you have any other questions.

    Bon Voyage,
