Will be potentially using rider swap for the first time. Does each rider still have to wait in the full line? Just curious how it works.

Hiya, Wanda, and welcome back to planDisney!

You're about to experience the time-honored tradition of just about every family that's ever visited the Walt Disney World Resort, Rider Switch. Let's clear up any confusion and get y'all ready for the best vacation ever.

Rider Switch is the perfect tool to allow different members of your group to enjoy attractions without having to wait in the same line multiple times. For example, imagine your party has 2 children, and only one of them is tall enough (or feeling brave enough) to ride Slinky Dog Dash. Your group would speak with the Cast Member at the entrance of the attraction. You can then take that child on the attraction while the other grown-up hangs out with the too-tiny tot (preferably somewhere nearby that's cooler or where there's a snack). Once y'all are done, the waiting grown-up returns to the return entrance (as directed by that very helpful Cast Member) and gets directly on the ride as if they waited with you the whole time.

Pro-tip. If the rider in the second group is riding all alone, one person from the first group can actually ride it again with them. You can't beat two rides on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind for the wait of one!

Wanda, thanks for coming back to chat with us here at planDisney. I hope I've been able to help you today.  If you have any more questions, you know just where to find us. See ya real soon.

    Happy planning!
