With posts about LL and Premier Pass, things aren't 100% clear. If I buy the Premier Pass, if I want to use LL once all my single visits on Premier Pass are used up, do I have to purchase regular LL as well or will Premier default to regular?

Hi there Michael, thanks for coming back to planDisney!

Lightning Lane Premier Pass is another great option for Guests to be able to access each available Lightning Lane experience in both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park at your leisure that day.  In order to experience both theme parks, you will need to make sure that your theme park ticket includes the Park Hopper option.

There are a few differences between Lightning Lane Premier Pass and Lightning Lane Multi Pass.  Lightning Lane Premier Pass also gives you access to the popular attractions available with Lightning Lane Single Pass, which currently are Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disneyland Park, and Radiator Springs Racers at Disney California Adventure Park.  Usually, you would have to purchase a Lightning Lane Single Pass for those attractions in addition to Lightning Lane Multi Pass, and each would be an additional cost.

With Lightning Lane Premier Pass, you do not need to reserve a time to enjoy each attraction, you can do this at your own pace!  You could start at the front or the back of each theme park, and work your way through each attraction that you'd like to experience when you'd like to.  However, you still will only receive access to one Lightning Lane entry per attraction, per day.  If you've already used the Lightning Lane entrance for Space Mountain, then you would not be able to access the Lightning Lane entrance again for Space Mountain that same day.

Lightning Lane Premier Pass will not default to Lightning Lane Multi Pass since you can only access each Lightning Lane entrance once per day.  If you have enjoyed all of the attractions in both parks with Lightning Lane entrances, then you'd be free to enjoy the remainder of the attractions, entertainment, dining, and shopping!  There are several attractions in both parks that do not offer a Lightning Lane entrance, especially in Fantasyland at Disneyland Park that you may want to enjoy during your trip.

You definitely could inquire with Guest Services about also purchasing Lightning Lane Multi Pass later in the day if you had already experienced all of the attractions you wanted to with Lightning Lane Premier Pass, but there are over 20 attractions to experience!  You may end up not have as much time left in the day as you think you will.  You also can begin to purchase Lightning Lane Premier Pass in the Disneyland app up to 2 days in advance of your visit, beginning at 7:00 AM PT, and there are very limited quantities available.

I hope this information helps answer your question, Michael!  If we can help with anything else before your vacation, please come back to planDisney!

    Have a magical day,
    Melissa
