You posted a reply about the Jr Chef Experience - but I can't figure out a way to reply back?? In short, there must be another Jr Chef - the posts I read were from this past summer (2011!!) at Boma & 1 other restaurant (can't think of it now...)

    Hi Lori!

I'm so sorry for the confusion, but after A LOT of phone calls to Disney, I finally have an answer!  I'm happy to say that there is a Jr. Chef Experience at Boma restaurant in Animal Kingdom Lodge.  It occurs every evening, usually during the latest dining reservation of the day.

One child is randomly chosen to be Boma's Chef of the Day.  The child is given a chef's hat, an animal shaped cookie and several toppings to decorate the cookie with.  A certificate stating that they were Chef of the Day is also presented.  This all happens at the family table.

I believe that the other resort you were thinking of was The Grand Floridian.  They used to have what they called "Grand Adventures of Cooking" for children, but that is no longer.

By the way, on occasion, most of the kids' clubs do have "cooking" activities that are similar to Jr. Chef at Boma.  You can find out what activities are going on at your resort's kids club every day.  This way you can plan what the best time is to drop your child off for their (& your) evening of fun!

I hope this helps!  Enjoy your stay and thanks for visiting the Moms Panel.

Magic Kingdom still takes my breath away, but my favorite place to be is on a Disney ship looking at the horizon and breathing in that crisp, clean ocean air!  I love planning Disney vacations for others and making sure it's more than they dreamed. Learn More About Marisol
