Hello Monda! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!
The rates for room reservations and theme park tickets fluctuate based upon demand. December is one of the most popular times to visit! People enjoy visiting the Most Magical Place on Earth during the most magical time of the year! I have a few tips that might help as you continue to plan your December visit!
First, be sure to check the wide variety of hotels available in the
Disney Resorts Collection. The rate you reference in your question leads me to believe you are looking at some of the deluxe resort hotels. There are other hotels available in both the
moderate and
value categories that may be better priced for your vacation budget at that time of year! I love both Disney's Art of Animation Resort and Disney's Coronado Springs Resort - Gran Destino Tower! You might also check the rates for other hotels, not in the Disney Resorts Collection. For example, last Christmas my family enjoyed a split-stay visit. We stayed at the
Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel (with less expensive rates) and then spent one night at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa which had a higher rate.
Additionally, when planning my vacation, I always check the “
Special Offers” page of the Walt Disney World Resort website! There are usually seasonal discounts on rooms or vacation packages as the season draws closer. Later this summer, there might be some money-saving deals offered for wintertime! Also, if you book a reservation now and a special offer becomes available later for your planned time of travel, Guests can always check if the newly released offer can be applied to their existing reservation! We have done this many times!
