Sam from FL Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

post-covid you needed a reservation to visit the resorts (dining or resort reservation). Has that changed? For example, can I just drive up and park to go to Port Orleans for beignets, or Fort Wilderness for the kids to have a pony ride? Any restrictions?

    Hey Sam!

So, you're wondering about the post-COVID magic rules for spontaneous visits to the wonders of the Walt Disney World Resorts? Well, buckle up for a whirlwind of "it depends"!

Resorts like Disney's Contemporary Resort or Disney's Polynesian Village Resort flaunt Disney Monorail Transportation, or resorts like Disney's Pop Century Resort or Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort connect you to fly on the Disney Skyliner Travel by Aerial Gondola, they tend to be the guardians of strictness. They require a resort or dining reservation for entry to their enchanted realms.

On the flip side, resorts like Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter are the easygoing buddies, waving you in with a bit more leniency. Yet even they may throw you a curveball depending on the color of pixie dust that day.

On my last quest, I sailed smoothly into Port Orleans - French Quarter and indulged in some delectable beignets while basking in the New Orleans vibes. However, when my compass pointed to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, the gates were sealed tight for non-resort guests like me.

So, the magic formula? It's a sprinkle of pixie luck and perhaps a dash of flexibility. The Disney adventure is a journey. Keep your explorer spirit alive, and who knows, you might stumble upon a portal to joyous beignet bliss. Happy Trails!
