Ahoy there, Maria! Welcome aboard planDisney!
Ah, postcards! Nothing says "wish you were here" like a postcard! Sure, it may be a little old-fashioned, but when you're talking about sailing on
the most beautiful ships on the high seas, there's something truly magical about stepping into spaces designed with the golden age of cruising in mind!
OH, it looks like you're just about to sail away, so let's get to your question!
I've got good news! If your cruise makes a stop at
Disney Castaway Cay, you may have heard there is a tiny Post Office there, and yes, it is truly a working Post Office that accepts postcards! Now, it's important to remember that the Post Office is not always open when the ship is docked at Castaway Cay, but there is a drop box outside of the office for you to leave your items to be mailed if this is the case!
For me, one of the coolest things - right next to getting a new passport stamp - is seeing the different postage from other countries, and the Bahamas is no exception! If the office is closed and you need postage from Castaway Cay, you can purchase Bahamian stamps at
Guest Services (Deck 3, Midship) to give your postcards a bit of island flair.
Oh, and don't forget: Castaway Cay is an island, so it can take quite a long time for mail sent on your cruise to arrive at its destination! If you ask me, that's some of the fun - I know there have been times friends have sent postcards during their cruise late in the summer, but they arrive during a dreary fall or winter day. I don't know about you, but seeing that postcard sure would put a smile on my face!
I hope that helps you get ready to set a course for some magical memories, Maria! Thank you so much for your question, and if you have any other last-minute thoughts, please drop me another line here at planDisney!
Have a magical day!
Andrew
