Hi there Jia Wun, I'm pleased to wish you a warm wedding welcome to planDisney!
If there's any major moment in any Disney fan's life to commemorate and capture, it's definitely when you celebrate your marriage at Walt Disney World Resort. It sounds like you're planning on having your wedding photos taken in Magic Kingdom park and as someone who had a Disney Fairy Tale Wedding last year spent years researching the ins and outs of everything you can add to the big day I'm happy to share more details on how you can get those special shots that fellow Disney brides and grooms alike want in front of Cinderella Castle:
- At the time of writing, couples looking to have their wedding photos taken in the theme parks must book their Portrait Session through Disney Fine Art Photography & Video - you can find the options on their website currently at a cost of several thousand dollars for one hour spent at Magic Kingdom Park early in the morning prior to opening hours. During this hour, you are taken on one of three different routes that all include Cinderella Castle, and may even include the queues of select attractions such as the Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean! Some very popular iconic spots also include the exterior of Be Our Guest Restaurant, the Mad Tea Party teacups and even the Tangled-themed restrooms adjacent to Rapunzel's Tower.
- Ways that you might save or find more value with your portrait session pricing is to choose one of the other theme parks like Disney's Hollywood Studios, EPCOT or Disney's Animal Kingdom or even selecting a Disney Resort Hotel to have your shoot at. We found that it was even more cost-effecting to do more than one theme park - and there's even currently an option to choose all four if you'd like!
- A very important thing to keep in mind is that this isn't currently available to all couples - just those who have had a Disney Fairy Tale Wedding either here at Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, Disney Cruise Line or at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa. I confirmed with Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons that at the current time, only those who have had their wedding events booked and planned through them are eligible for these Portrait Sessions.
Policies, offerings and their pricing in the realm of Disney Weddings is subject to change without prior notice and I've observed this to be the case, especially over the past few years so it's good to keep an eye out on resources like the
Ever After Blog, Disney Wedding Podcast and DisBrides planning communities online that are handy to connect with fellow couples and learn from their experiences. This is where I learned that as an alternative, some couples have taken advantage of
booking Capture Your Moment sessions at the theme parks; though wedding attire is not permitted, we saw it as a good way to practice posing for our future park shoot and still dress nicely while having quite a few photos after the experience. Come back again soon to ask me or
my fellow Panelist Kay about our Disney Wedding advice right here at planDisney!
Wishing you the best on capturing shots of your Happily Ever After!
