Is it possible to walk up to a table service restaurant and and order food to go without a reservation? For example could I just stop by Les Chefs de France in EPCOT and order a carryout bowl of french onion soup? That would be great if I could! :)

Hola, Carissa! If you want to do some sort of carryout option at most table service restaurants, it takes a little bit of finagling (<--- word of the day.)

In fact, carryout typically consists of acquiring a seat at a table service restaurant, ordering and then boxing it up.

At Chefs de France last year, we were having such a fabulous time with our toddler and our friends' toddler that we rushed through eating dinner so we could depart without upsetting the natural balance of the world anymore. We asked for our desserts to go, and the feasible option was to order, get our desserts, box 'em up and scram. After pulling this off, we then went over to the flower area in France (outside of the scent shop,) ate our desserts and let our entire kid populace get their crazy out.

In the event you can score an advance dining reservation ahead of time or a table when you walk up, consider trying out the order-and-box-it-up combo at restaurants where you can eat at the bar. One person of your party could go in, sit at the bar, order dinner, order a drink while you wait and then box up said food. It's complicated, but it is an option!
