Is is possible to get a waiver to bring onboard a small extension cord as the power cube for my computer plugs directly into an outlet (or onto a cord) and tends to fall out of most worn out hotel outlets -- or does disney treasure have nice, tight outlets

Hi there, Stevie! Welcome aboard, planDisney!

Your cruise aboard the Disney Treasure is approaching fast, and I’m so excited for you! I recently sailed aboard the Disney Treasure and was blown away by the beauty and details in the decor! The ship is adventure and Aladdin themed, and no gorgeous detail has been spared—right down to the details in the stunning staterooms. The staterooms on board are so well thought out and designed with guests’ needs and comfort in mind. The features include plenty of spots for charging ports, which is incredibly helpful in this high-tech world we live in! I would be happy to share what the outlets and charging ports look like, as well as what you can bring on board in terms of electronics and charging items.

The Disney Treasure is one of Disney Cruise Line’s newest vessels. I would say that, because of this, the entire ship feels brand new, but the reality is, Stevie, that every single Disney Cruise Line ship feels brand new! They’re constantly being updated and sent off for refurbishment. Therefore, even the oldest ones now include all types of outlets in the staterooms. None of them feels old or worn out because of the constant refurbishments and upkeep on Disney Cruise Line’s part. They do a great job of always repairing anything that needs to be repaired and taking care of any features that might need to be updated. All this to say, in my experience, I’ve never worried about an outlet that seemed old or worn out. My family has been able to plug in multiple devices easily, no matter the Disney cruise ship we’ve been on, including the Disney Treasure.

The only thing to note, as far as plugging in electronics on board, is that due to the cruise ship’s voltage limit, you will need to ensure that your devices can be plugged in and charged in accordance with that voltage limit. This is the part where I always check the voltage of the items I'm bringing on board to ensure they fall within that range, which on board the Disney Treasure is 110V and a maximum of 1500 watts for American appliances.

As for extension cords, charging banks, and/or power strips, these items are prohibited from being brought on board and will be confiscated at the port if found in your luggage. Bringing them to the port, and therefore, having your luggage searched as a result, could also delay your luggage being delivered to your room in a timely manner on the day you embark on your cruise. I highly suggest leaving them behind, as you will not be able to bring them on board to use when plugging in your computer.

Instead, I would ensure that your regular computer plug is in tip-top shape and able to be used on board. Again, as for the outlets themselves, I've personally never had an issue with an item with a good, working plug and within Disney Cruise Line's voltage limits, being able to be plugged in or charged using the outlets in my stateroom. While there's no guarantee that yours will work on board, as I don't know the exact model and/or type you're using, I can share my own experience plugging in my own devices to help you get an idea of what you might expect. Regarding a signed waiver to bring an extension cord on board, there isn't one, as all guests must comply with the Prohibited and Restricted Items list.

Stevie, I hope I was able to offer clarification. I wish you the most TREASUREd memories on board your cruise! Please sail back to planDisney if you have any other questions.
