Is it possible to upgrade a room at check-in?

    Hi Christine,

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.

You can ask for a room upgrade upon check-in at a Walt Disney World resort.  The upgrade would of course be based on availability of the upgraded room, and you should be prepared that you might need to pay the difference between the room that you have booked and the upgraded room.  That said, sometimes truly magical moments happen where Disney is able to upgrade you without a charge; however, that is very infrequent and you should not count on that happening.

I typically suggest that you book the room that you want to stay in.  If you really want a Tower Room with a Theme Park View at Disney's Contemporary Resort, book that, do not book a Garden Wing Standard View and hope for an upgrade, especially if you have your heart set on that Tower Room with a Theme Park View.  If you are viewing any room upgrade as a bonus, that is great; however, you should plan on being in the room type that you booked.

I hope that this information is helpful for you, Christine.  Have a wonderful time planning your trip, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
