Is it possible to have a truly magical trip while staying offsite? Any locations better than others or tips to make it as seamless and easy as possible? Thanks!

    Hi Elizabeth,

You can absolutely enjoy a fabulous Disney World vacation while staying at an offsite resort or hotel.  While my family usually stays onsite, we have had great trips during which we stayed at other resorts.  If your family chooses to stay off Disney property, I suggest renting a car to make getting to and from the parks as easy as possible.  While many offsite hotels offer bus service to Disney World, pickup and drop off times and locations tend to be limited.  If you chose to dine at Disney Resorts during your trip, having a rental car will be particularly helpful.  You will be able to self-park at whichever resort you have a reservation at by telling the security guard at the entrance the name and time of your reservation.  If you plan on spending much of your time at the parks, I would also suggest trying to stay at a resort as close as possible to Disney to minimize travel time (particularly if you have young children who need to return to your room midday for a nap.)

    Have a wonderful trip!
