Hi there, Joseph!
Welcome to planDisney and thanks so much for stopping by with your question about the 2024
Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend. I'm thrilled to have secured a bib, myself, and I can't wait to be racing at
The Happiest Place on Earth again next year! Are you ready to run magical miles through
Disneyland Park and
Disney California Adventure Park!?
Joseph, I'm sorry to hear that you didn't get the distance you were hoping for during race weekend registration. As a frequent runDisney participant, I know firsthand how stressful registration can be, and I'm familiar with the disappointment of not getting my first choice for race distances. It sounds like you were able to snag a bib for the
Disneyland Half Marathon while your brother is registered for the
Disneyland 10K. While both distances are sure to feature fun surprises on the course, I can understand wanting to have a running buddy to "Go the Distance" alongside! Joseph, according to the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend
Race Policies, registrations may be transferred within the same race weekend to a longer distance if the longer distance race has not sold out. Unfortunately, at this time, all race distances for the 2024 Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend are sold out. However, a limited number of additional bibs may become available in the months leading up to the race weekend. Joseph, due to Race Policies, in order for you and your brother to run together, he'd have to transfer to the longer distance race. I recommend checking the
Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend website frequently for any available openings in the Disneyland Half Marathon. If openings are offered, you'll see the green "Register Now" button on the event instead of "Sold Out." If you see openings available, your brother will want to quickly log into his runDisney account by navigating to "Help & Support" > "Manage Account" in the upper right-hand corner of the website. Then, he'll select the registration he'd like to transfer and the new distance he's hoping to transfer to. Finally, he'll be prompted to pay the difference in registration price plus a transfer processing fee.
If your brother isn't able to transfer to the Disneyland Half Marathon, Hakuna Matata, Joseph - it means no worries! I've enjoyed participating in several runDisney races as a solo runner, and I'm sure you and your brother would still enjoy every magical mile. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that you'll be able to run together, though! Either way, I'm wishing you and your brother an exciting and rewarding race weekend at Disneyland Resort. Joseph, if you have any additional questions, please feel free to drop back by planDisney again anytime - we're all ears!
Every Mile is Magic,
Lauren
