Is it possible to start booking vacations for farther out than 18-ish months? We want to take my daughter for graduation in 2022, but want to begin the planning now. I can't get past December, 2021 for booking options. Must I wait until 2021 to book?

It's great to see you here today at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Teresa! I think that a trip to Walt Disney World Resort is the perfect way to celebrate a major milestone like graduation so I'm glad to hear that you're planning a special trip for your daughter to commemorate her academic achievements. It sounds like you and I have a lot in common because I'm always itching to get my vacation plans set up as soon as possible as well, so let's chat about when you'll be able to book your 2022 graduation celebration.

Vacation packages generally become available the summer before the year you want to travel. For example, vacation package booking opened up for 2020 in June of 2019, and 2021 became available for booking in June of this year, so I expect that you'll likely be able to book your 2022 vacation sometime in the summer of next year. This gives you plenty of time to start thinking about the first things you need to decide, like which Resort Hotel you want to stay at! I have my personal favorites, like Disney's Pop Century Resort and Disney's Yacht Club Resort, but with more than two dozen to choose from, you can use this time to get to know each one and pick one that will be perfect for your family. I also recommend that you bookmark and keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog because it will give you a great idea of all the fun special events that are happening year-round at Walt Disney World Resort, like the Festivals at EPCOT or the Resort-wide holiday celebrations at the end of the year. Reading these blog posts will help you decide when you want to go, and what attractions and entertainment are must-do, can't miss things for your daughter's big trip.

    Have a magical day, Teresa!
