Is it possible to show up late to a dining reservation? I'm nervous that we'll be in line for a ride, and have it take longer than we thought, so we'll be late and not be able to get our seats!

Hi Lydia!  Timing is everything when touring the parks at Walt Disney World. Unfortunately the restaurants must adhere to your reservation time with diligence as they need to process so many guests through the dining hour every day.  The time you are given is not specific in that you will be seated right exactly as the reservation says. Instead it is a preferred seating time meaning when your entire party arrives you will be given the next table as you are on the list of those waiting. If you arrive late explain the situation and they will put you on the list but it might take a long time. I wouldn't try to be late and if you are too late they might remove your name completely so be careful.

With the new policy that you must use a Fast Pass exactly during the time given this is making dining more difficult. I don't agree with it but they didn't ask me either. Now we all have to watch the clock more and plan even more to specific timing! In the future we might have to make the choice.....enjoy an attraction or enjoy a dining experience. Last month when I was able to get a Fast Pass for something it conflicted with my dining so I went to the restaurant and they were able to seat me when it opened. During busy times of the day they won't be able to be so accommodating.
