Welcome aboard, Michael! Thank you for bringing your question to planDisney.
I think springtime is the best time to sail with
Disney Cruise Line. The days are usually sunny, and the evenings are cool and comfortable – the perfect temperature to enjoy an evening on your verandah or take a stroll on deck. Packing a lightweight sweatshirt or sweater is always a good idea because the dining rooms and theatre can sometimes feel chilly after a day of soaking up some vitamin SEA.
Unfortunately, the port is not accepting luggage or package deliveries before arrival. But I have a few suggestions for getting all your things to the port. If you are staying at a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel in Walt Disney World before your embarkation day, you can ship a package to the resort and pick it up when you arrive. I always include tracking and mail my package early enough to allow for travel delays.
Another idea is to pack less . . . I know that might be challenging, but Disney Cruise Line has a handy
packing list to help focus your packing. I find that my family doesn’t wear a quarter of the things we pack, and I always pack too many shoes. If you are trying to save room, packing cubes are amazing. Last summer, we sailed the Mediterranean with Disney Cruise Line. I fit all my clothes in a carry-on bag thanks to packing cubes. I felt like Mary Poppins opening my luggage.
Michael, no matter how many bags you decide to bring, Disney Cruise Line staterooms are designed with families in mind. Your luggage will easily fit under the bed. The closet has plenty of room to hang your clothes, and both bathrooms have storage for your personal care items. Just check all the drawers when it’s time to re-pack your bags, so you don’t leave anything behind.
No matter how your items arrive at the port, I know you’ll have a fantastic cruise! If there is anything else I can help you with, please stop by again.
