Is it possible to ride our bicycles from the Fort Wilderness Campsites to the Transportation Hub?

    Hiya James!

Welcome to planDisney, and thank you so much for sending us this magical question! I got to stay at the Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort myself, and I absolutely loved using my bike to get around the Resort with the rest of my family. It was such a nice activity, and we even got to bring our furry baby around in our basket!

Wow, James, you are more courageous than me! On my Disney trips, I always end up using complimentary transportation as it sure is nice after a long park day. The good news is that the Transportation and Ticket Center does have bike racks in the Guest drop-off area, so you would be able to leave your bike there. Unfortunately, the theme park parking lots do not have bike racks, but they do have motorcycle parking spots. However, I would not recommend biking between the Resorts and parks as the roads do not have bike lanes and get a lot of traffic, so they are not always bike-friendly. For more amazing tips, my fellow panelist Adriana shared some incredibly helpful information!

While biking at the Walt Disney World Resort is one of the ways you can enjoy the beautiful Florida weather, there are also so many more activities you can experience during your vacation! Indeed, most Resort maps have highlighted jogging paths that you can use if you would like to go on a run or take a nice walk. Similarly, many of the Resorts have additional activities you can enjoy, such as canoe renting at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, boat renting at various Disney Resort hotels, or bike renting. If you are a fan of hiking, however, I highly recommend booking a Wild Africa Trek tour at Disney's Animal Kingdom. This three-hour trek is perfect for hiking and animal lovers who want to learn more about the animals living in the Harambe Wildlife Reserve. I signed up for this activity twice, and it is still one of my all-time favourite offerings at the Walt Disney World Resort. Plus, you get to have a delicious snack prepared by some of the Resort's best restaurants right in the middle of the savanna, surrounded by giraffes and wildebeests. This activity is an additional cost to your theme park ticket and does require a theme park reservation, so make sure to book those at the same time as your Wild Africa Trek reservation.

I hope this was helpful, James, and that you will have the best day ever on your next Disney vacation! If you have any other questions in the time leading up to your trip, please don't hesitate to reach back out. The wilderness must be explored, and I am always happy to help fellow wilderness explorers!

    Have a magical day,
