Hello, Carlos,
Thank you for sending your question to planDisney.
The California Grill is one of my family's absolute favorite restaurants at Walt Disney World. From the breathtaking views to the delicious
menu to the Mary Blair (she is the artist who designed the soaring mosaic inside
Disney's Contemporary Resort) inspired decor, it is a magical dining experience.
When you make a reservation at the restaurant, it will simply be a reservation. You won't be able to make a table request at that time. However, once you check in at the restaurant, you can request a table next to the window that faces the
Magic Kingdom. Since a large number of the tables offer that view, I'm hopeful they will be able to accommodate you, but please know it may not be possible. If you arrive a bit earlier than your reservation time and let the restaurant know that you don't mind waiting, that may increase the probability of getting the table you'd like.
By the way, did you know that you can view the fireworks from the restaurant on the day of your reservation regardless of the time you are dining? To do this, you need to go to the check-in podium on the 2nd floor of Disney's Contemporary Resort. A cast member will confirm your dining reservation (either by looking it up if dining after the fireworks or by showing your receipt if dining before them) and then escort you up to view the fireworks from the observation deck. It's another great reason this restaurant is so magical!
Wishing you a wonderful day! Please let us know if you have any further questions.
