Is it possible to make a reservation and attend a character breakfast if you are not staying at a hotel in the Disney parks? Can you get in for a character breakfast if the park isn't open yet?

    Hi Ben,

Character breakfasts are a terrific way to meet your Disney favorites and enjoy a delicious meal at the same time. Dining reservations open 180 days in advance for all guests at Walt Disney World. You do not have to be staying at a resort on property to take advantage of that option.

If your reservation is inside a park before opening time, you will find a cast member just outside the entrance who will verify your reservation and allow you access to the park. I suggest arriving at the gate about 30 minutes before your reservation so that you have time to get inside and walk leisurely to your breakfast with a few moments to stop and take pictures in a near-empty park along the way.

Please remember that you must have a valid theme park ticket to enter Magic Kingdom, Disney's Hollywood Studios, Epcot or Disney's Animal Kingdom for a meal.

If you want to have a character meal on a day you aren't going to a park, you have a number of great options at some of the Disney resorts. When you make your reservations, simple use the Dining Experience filter for character dining to see all your choices.
