Is it possible to reassign one of my old magic bands to my son? I recently purchased him a 3 day pass. Thanks!

    Hiya Angel,

Welcome to planDisney! My Prince Charming and I sat down the other day and counted up all our MagicBands from over the years. Let’s just say that number exceeded ten each. It is very easy to accumulate quite a collection if you visit the Most Magical Place on Earth frequently.

One of the best parts of having multiple MagicBands is that you can use them trip after trip as long as they are linked to your My Disney Experience account. That said, unfortunately, once the MagicBand is linked to your account, it cannot be transferred to your son for him to use. If you wanted your son to have a MagicBand, you would need to purchase him one of his own.

I’m sorry this isn’t the news you hoped for, Angel. If you aren’t looking to purchase a MagicBand or MagicBand+ for your son, you can always use Disney’s MagicMobile service. With Disney MagicMobile, you can create a pass on your mobile device for your son that functions in the same way that a MagicBand would.

Please come back and see us if you need anything else.

    Happy Planning,

    Ashley F.
