Is it possible to raise the American flag the day my family and I visit Magic Kingdom? I am Veteran and very proud of my country and the effort Disney does to include other countries into the culture of Disney.

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Joseph! Thank you for your service to our country; I really appreciate the work our veterans have done and continue to do!

Participating in the Flag Retreat is a great honor, and one I had a chance to witness during my last visit to Magic Kingdom. While the selection process for the ceremony is extremely random, you can always visit Guest Relations first thing in the morning of the day that you would like to participate. Let the friendly Cast Members know you are have interest in the ceremony. You may even want to let them know about your service by wearing items that notate your service like a hat, t-shirt or other item that proudly showcases your military service. I would advise you to wake early that morning and grab breakfast on your way to the Parks. I believe there is a good chance the Flag Retreat participant selection is made as guests enter Magic Kingdom in the morning.  Be sure to take a look at Military Salute Park Tickets as well as military Resort room offers or even the military Memory Maker rate (an amazing value and I believe the best kept military secret at Walt Disney World Resort) at the Ticket Windows or Guest Services.

If I can help you find more unique activities during your upcoming vacation, please let me know. You’ve got a friend in me! ~ Lindsey P.
