Hey Christiane,
Welcome back to planDisney! As a fellow planner, I love your think ahead spirit. It’s super smart to want to study the theme park maps and have a sense of where you’re going before you arrive. Walt Disney World is huge, and there are several ways to get lost, though you’re never really lost in the Most Magical Place on Earth. I’m happy to help you with your planning.
While Disney World no longer mails physical park maps to guests prior to arrival, you do have a few alternative options that might meet your planning needs. You can study the park maps available in the My Disney Experience app. Admittedly, sometimes I check the park maps for attraction wait times from home whether I have a trip planned or not. While you might not have access to some features from home (like the wait times) until you arrive at the resort, the maps should be accessible to you.
If digital maps on your phone aren’t your jam, you can head to the Disney World website to view and
print the maps you need from home. Click on Expand Map in the right corner and use the plus/minus signs or double click the locations you want to zoom in on. The website is cool because it let’s you customize the size of the map’s contents.
Be sure to grab a few physical maps when you visit. While changes may happen between visits making them outdated, I still find that older maps might be helpful with general planning. Also, they make great keepsakes. They are usually available at the front of the parks very close to the entrance. During your visit,
EPCOT’s International Flower & Garden Festival will be in full swing so be sure to check it out. The character-shaped topiaries make my heart flutter and eating and drinking around the World Showcase might be a favorite pastime of mine.
Disney Parks Blog will usually post a Foodie Guide for each festival just before it launches so keep an eye out for that.
I hope this information is helpful, Christiane. If you need more help with planning your next trip to the magic, please don’t hesitate to swing by and see us again. We’ll see ya real soon!
Magically yours,
Sakinah
