Is it possible to pre book a wheelchair for use at a Disney world park? Thank you

    Hello Penelope,

Welcome to planDisney! We are so glad that you are here and that you are just a few weeks away from your Walt Disney World Resort holiday. You must be very excited!

Wheelchairs are available for rent at all four theme parks, Disney Springs, Disney Water Parks and ESPN Wide World of Sports on a first-come, first-served basis. For daily rentals, you pay at the first location you enter and then you can use a wheelchair at any of the locations on that same day. You will return the wheelchair upon leaving each location, so you won’t have access to it during transportation or exploring an area such as Disney’s BoardWalk. If you have a multi-day vacation, consider purchasing a Length of Stay rental. However, the Length of Stay rental is only transferable between the four Disney theme parks. If you only need a wheelchair while in the theme parks, either of these options might work well for you and conveniently give you more time in the parks making memories.

Penelope, Walt Disney World also has a Disney Featured Provider, Scooterbug, for mobility assistance rentals. This option might be helpful if you always need a wheelchair during your vacation. Scooterbug will deliver the wheelchair to your Disney Resorts Collection hotel and pick it up when your vacation ends. You can learn more about Scooterbug on the Walt Disney World website.

Did you know that Walt Disney World Resort hotels provide numerous rooms, transportation options and more with added comfort, safety, and services for guests needing mobility assistance? For more information, please contact Disability Services at (407) 560-2547 or email disability.services@disneyparks.com. You can also review the Services for Guests with Mobility Disabilities page on the Walt Disney World website to learn more.

I hope you found this information helpful. If you have other questions about how to make the most of your holiday, please let us know!

    Wishing you many magical memories,
    Shannon
