Hi Debra! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with this great question!
Oh boy! It sounds like you are planning an epic Walt Disney World trip later this year! If you plan to visit during the holiday season, you are in for a real treat! The holidays are a magical time to be there, with festive décor and displays set up around the parks and resorts! You'll be in the holiday spirit within moments of arriving!
When booking your vacation package using the
Walt Disney World website, a deposit is required to hold the reservation. Typically, it is about $200 at the time of booking, then the balance of your vacation is due 30 days before your arrival. You'll have the liberty to set up your payment plan and make payments during this time. Disney will accept partial payments up to 30 days prior. You can set a monthly amount for yourself in order to keep you on track to make the final payment. My family did this on our recent trip and it worked out great! We were able to set a monthly budget and continue to pay down the amount as the time got closer to arrival.
Note: Vacation packages include your
Disney Resorts Hotel reservation and ticket package. If you plan to stay offsite and only purchase park tickets, the full amount is due at the time of purchase.
If you are traveling with multiple families, each Disney Resorts Hotel room that you book will be considered a different reservation and have a unique confirmation number. If each family is staying in their own room, I recommend that they book it separately and set up a personal payment plan for themselves. You can also get together to discuss when you plan to make your payments and possibly devise a plan to make them at the same time. This will be completely up to you.
Currently,
vacation packages are available to book until the end of 2023. While you can modify your reservation once it is booked, you will need to know your exact travel dates when making the reservation. With multiple reservations potentially, I suggest trying to firm up the dates prior to booking.
Debra, I hope this information helps you plan for your upcoming trip!
