As they say in Africa, "Jambo Devon!"
Welcome back to
planDisney and thanks for bringing us such an interesting question today.
My family and I have been lucky enough to have enjoyed several stays at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge where our Savanna View room was the perfect spot to watch the gentle and serene Okapis as they meandered about the Savanna feeding and interacting with the other hoofed animals such as Giraffe, Gazelle, and Zebra.
In my own personal opinion, the beautiful and very authentic feeling
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge truly is the perfect destination for any Guest who would love to experience an African safari, but without ever leaving the United States of America!
Devon, I'm more than happy to share that Guests may indeed be able to spot
Okapis when visiting Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park too! Guests with a keen eye can sometimes spot Okapi when enjoying the
Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail, or whist riding on the
Kilamanjaro Safari.
However, as we continue
Returning to a World of Magic at Walt Disney World Resort, the
Sense of Africa at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge tour where Guests may have had the rare opportunity to
meet an Okapi currently remains paused for the meantime.
My best suggestion for you Devon would be to keep a keen Ear on the
Disney Parks Blog for any Disney-related news or announcements concerning any return of the special
Events and Tours at Walt Disney World Resort.Until then, Hakuna matata, and have a great Disney day ~ Jane
