Hiya Sara,
Welcome to planDisney! I hope you are getting excited about visiting Walt Disney World Resort this summer. As you prepare for the Orlando sunshine, don’t forget to pack extra socks, an umbrella/poncho, and a refillable water bottle. It rains unpredictably in Florida during the summer, so the extra pair of socks will allow you to enjoy your day without soggy feet. Also, dehydration can sneak up at any time, so you will appreciate having water available when you are waiting in line for an attraction.
If you have a
Walt Disney World Resort Vacation Package (a bundle of a Walt Disney World Resort Collection Hotel stay and Theme Park Tickets), you are eligible to make payments towards your remaining balance. However, if you booked a room-only resort reservation, you are ineligible to make payments towards your remaining balance and will need to pay the remaining amount at check-in.
When I was in graduate school, we often tried to balance having the vacation of our dreams on a grad school budget. I know that can sometimes put a damper on budgeting for your vacation, but I have a tip for you. We found that
Disney Gift Cards are a fantastic way to plan. They are available in increments as low as $25, and you can find them at multiple retail locations and online. The best part is that you can combine them onto one card and then use that one to pay for your remaining balance towards your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel. You can also pay for merchandise and dining! I find it much easier to bring a Disney Gift Card than keeping track of my credit cards and cash during my time in the Theme Parks. As a bonus, when you register your Disney Gift Card, if you happen to misplace it,
you can get your funds transferred onto a new card.
I hope that my answer was helpful, Sara. Please come back and see us if there is anything else we can do to help.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
