Hi Andrew,
Welcome to planDisney! Thank you for stopping by with a great question!
Let me say first that I love how you are planning. My family always has to map out how we are getting from place to place while at the Walt Disney World Resort, particularly because we are usually on a mission to get somewhere quickly and affordably. In the past, you could potentially have entered EPCOT through the International Gateway entrance, walked to the main entrance and caught the monorail if you had an
Annual Pass or the Park Hopper ticket option. With park hopping temporarily suspended for ticket holders and Annual Passholders, you would not be able to walk through EPCOT and then visit Magic Kingdom for the day.
If you had an
advanced dining reservation at Disney's Contemporary Resort, you could go to your dining reservation and then walk or catch the monorail, provided it is operating at the time of your visit, to Magic Kingdom. We are planning a trip for later in December and I just made a dining reservation for
Chef Mickey's at 7:30 a.m. When we have to get to early morning breakfast reservations at resort hotels, we typically use a ride share service like Uber or Lyft.
As you consider your transportation options and the most direct routes between locations, remember to use the
My Disney Experience Mobile App. If you enter a location into the search bar and click on the name of that location, you should see an option to "Get Directions." Once you see that option, you can type in your second location, select it, and then get directions. Using that feature, you can see the estimated transit times and transit options between locations.
Andrew, I hope this helps! Remember to keep your eye on the
operational updates as you prepare for your visit as procedures could change and make sure you have used the
Disney Park Pass system to make your theme park reservations. Wishing you lots of traveling luck!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
