Hi Karen,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. My Mouseketeers and I had so much fun at ‘Ohana on our most recent visit. We had great character interactions, and the food is just
so delicious. Plus, Disney’s Polynesian Village resort is so dreamy, and it smells amazing. Take me back!
Many of my Disney-loving friends and I have had great experiences with making special requests at Walt Disney World’s dining locations. The dining Cast Members really want to ensure that those with special dietary needs, or even just picky kids (I
may know a couple of those…) are able to enjoy their meal and have a great time. I really appreciate that about a Disney vacation.
At
‘Ohana’s breakfast, Mickey waffles are served with the standard family-style offerings. I can’t promise that the kitchen will be able to make an order of pancakes for you, but do think it’s worth politely asking your server if it’s possible. (On my last visit, mine brought me a plate of “birthday bacon!”) It never hurts to ask, but be ready to hear that they cannot accommodate the request, and then dig in to the other delicious options, which include scrambled eggs, potatoes, biscuits, sausage, ham, fruit, and their famous welcome bread.
Karen, if you absolutely must have pancakes, my very favorite Walt Disney World pancakes are served right next door to ‘Ohana at
Kona Café. The Macadamia Nut Pancakes, served with macadamia nut butter and pineapple sauce, are amazingly yummy.
Happy breakfasting, Karen! Please come back and see us if we can help with any more questions.
Wishing you a magical vacation – with syrup on top!
