Welcome to planDisney, Victoria!
You have asked a great question. The short answer is yes!
When guests book a reservation at a
Walt Disney World Resort hotel, one of the many perks is the ability to have packages shipped to them. As with many policies, things change from time to time, so it's good to check on the current policy before choosing to ship something to yourself. Currently, there is a $6 handling fee for any package that is delivered for a guest at the front desk of their WDW hotel. For more information about
Walt Disney World Mail Services--including receiving packages--check out the really helpful page I linked above.
To be sure your package arrives safely, head to the WDW webpage for your hotel. On the overview tab, scroll down to see the map of that particular hotel; the hotel address will be listed just below it. On your address label, be sure your name, "Guest", and the dates of your stay are listed along with that mailing address, too. Upon arrival, you'll be able to pick up your package at your earliest convenience. We did just that for our recent stay at
Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows and those extra phone batteries I had ordered were waiting for us at check-in. Problem solved.
Alternatively, if your stay is at a WDW hotel that features a
Business Center, packages may be received there. Business Center parcel handling fees and hours are listed on that page as well. During our stays at
Disney's Contemporary Resort, picking up our packages was easy, too. To find the location of a hotel's Business Center, open up your
My Disney Experience app and enter Business Center into the search bar; scroll to the center that's right for your stay. You'll see the option for walking directions, and that will lead you directly to the location of your packages. So convenient!
Victoria, I've been a fan of shipping packages to ourselves for upcoming stays at WDW for years. This enabled us to fly with fewer checked bags--if any--because lots of the items we needed could be shipped ahead of time. Larger containers of sunscreen, misting fans, shelf-stable snacks, lemonade mix, bulky sneakers--we've shipped them all with great success. You can even order items from your favorite online shop and have those shipped to your hotel as well. This is so useful when finishing up some last-minute packing and you realize you're short on something. Too late for the item to arrive before your departure? No worries. Have it sent to your attention at your Walt Disney World hotel.
As you continue to put more pixie dust onto your plans for a visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth, Victoria, be sure to send additional questions our way. We love to help!
